What makes a great portrait?
Good portraits are all about people being at ease and relaxed. A great portrait can be totally unstaged, unrehearsed, no studio lights and be all the better for it.
Or a great picture could be all of these with the classic black dark backgrounds in that film noir style shot. If you want to get a lovely family portrait with yourself, the hubby and the three and the five year old, they might not sit still long enough for you to look like Lauren Bacall. Maybe in this case we are better off on a beach with the sun in the background and the waves crashing.
